Kelly van der Veer

 Kelly van der Veer is a Dutch transgender media personality and sex worker. [1]

Biography

At a young age, Van der Veer participated in the albums 12 to 15 of Kinderen voor Kinderen. A few years later, in 1997, Van der Veer was the winner of the Veronica program De Travestieshow, presented by Robert ten Brink.

She gained national fame mainly with her participation in 2001 in the third edition of Big Brother - The Battle, in which she finished 7th. After this she released a few less successful singles and was regularly seen as a guest in all kinds of television programs. She took part in The National Traffic Exam on SBS6 a number of times (failing three times) and she could be seen in Patty's Fort (Yorin, 2004), Gemma Glitter's Health Show (Zappelin, 2004), The National IQ Test (BNN, 2005), where she achieved a score of 77, Hotel Big Brother (Talpa, 2006) and Dancing on Ice (RTL 4, 2007). She was often a guest on Robert Jensen's television program JENSEN!, in which she also had her own, weekly item: Gewoon Kel. She also appeared in a number of films, including Gay (2004).

In October 2006 the autobiography of Van der Veer was published, written with co-author Andries de Jong. De Jong is a journalist for the weekly magazine Party and was a fellow resident of the Big Brother house.

From 2012, Van der Veer was a webcam girl and make-up specialist. In 2015, Van der Veer was featured in the RTL 5 program Shopping Queens VIPS, in which she finished in third place. In the summer of 2016 it became known that she worked as a prostitute in a brothel in The Hague. [2]

The documentary Kelly, produced by Made in June and 2CFILM, was released on Prime Video in 2023 on the International Day of Transgender Visibility (March 31). [3][4] In the spring of 2024, Van der Veer was one of the participants in the Videoland program Real Girls in the Jungle. [5]
